Finally ... after nearly a year of development and three public beta tests Battlefield 2 v1.50 is ready for release! The update will be released on Tuesday 1st September at 5pm UK, 6pm Europe.
As part of Update 1.50 we are glad to announce that not only is Highway Tampa now a required install included in the update but Euro Forces (Great Wall, Taraba Quarry and Operation Smoke Screen) and Armored Fury (Midnight Sun, Operation Harvest and Operation Road Rage) is now FREE for all Battlefield 2 players. Including the brand new map, Operation Blue Pearl this brings EIGHT new maps that everyone can play and will be added to ranked Battlefield 2 servers world wide. The Booster Pack content is included in the update and has made the file just over 2Gb in size.

Our first game we were drawn against CallToKill on de_inferno, we won the knife round choosing to start CT, we went confident into the first half with some nice teamplay taking the half 14-1.
we then entered the second half losing the first 3 rounds but pulling it back with 2 rounds to end the game 16-4.

If you’ve never attended a LAN event, there’s nothing like arriving on the first day. Imagine thousands of happy people and millions of pounds worth of equipment. That’s a LAN and that was i35. Sadly the weather was bad and negotiating the puddles to throw a tent up proved messy. But then there’s nothing like roughing it. This must be one of the only times your PC gets better accommodation than you….The machines are taking over and we never even noticed!

Worldwide preliminaries will be held in over 50 countries from October 2008 to June 2009 to select the world’s best gamers that will take part in final competitions.
